Halloween Update


Here's a Halloween inspired update!

(Most) creatures now leave corpses when they die.  Anything in a creature's inventory is dropped on the ground around them, while the equipment they were wearing is left on the corpse (which behaves like a container).  Corpses can be picked up and carried, too.  Here's a demo:




Murkywood now has a cemetery, complete with animated skeletons that seem to like fiddles and dancing!  Are they having a party??  Head out into the forest and explore it for yourself.




Expanding on the line of sight work done just prior to launch, Sword & Hammer now has a memory of areas you've seen before.  These are shown in dimmed color.  Easily discerning where you've been before has a big impact on exploration, helpful for both escaping and discerning that little side passage you haven't checked out yet.  Memory lasts for the current play session; permanent map memory will come in a later update.  Here's a demo in the Goblin Cave:




On the back end, player accounts are now pruned.  Accounts without passwords expire after 7 days, accounts with passwords expire after 30 days.  Over time this will help me see how many people are coming back and playing the game.

All existing players have been removed.  The changes for corpses and pruning required a different storage format.
